CageA central office in the casino where coins, chips, money and receipts are kept. Sometimes referred to as the cashier's cage. Return to the slot machine terms main page. The cage is usually found in a central location just off the casino floor, usually within feet of casino gaming. A line may form at the cage for the purposes of cashing out chips or buying chips (though many casinos have attendants who provide chips, and many slot machines have dollar dispensers). The cage is important to modern slot machine players, because this is the room which processes money transactions for players. If a player wins a lot of money on the slot machine, that player will be payed at the cashier's cage. In many casinos, there are multiple cages. The poker room might have its own cage, while the slot machines and video poker machines might have their own cage. | Slot Machines Main Page |
