Handle Slammers

A particular kind of slots cheat, who slams the handles of the slot machine after finding the weakness of the machine.

Handle slamming is no longer an option in the slots industry. Handle slammer methods worked before the computerization of slot machines, when players could manipulate the mechanical aspects of the slot machine.

Handle slammers would get the feel of the machine by manipulating its handle. When the player decided what the weakness in the machine, the player would then take the handle and slam the machine.

This technique was illegal and highly frowned upon by casino management. Handle slammers were thrown out of the casino -- if not prosecuted. Handle slamming was just one of many different techniques used by slots cheats: mini-lights, counterfeit coins, the Monkey's Paw and the coin-on-the-string.

The handle slam no longer works, since the mechanical parts of the slot machines are no longer found in modern slot machines. Electronic components cannot be manhandled like the older slot machines were by handle slammers.
