When a player inserts their coins into the slot machine and spins the reels, if they get a win, the machine’s payout falls out from the hopper. The term is also sometimes used to describe the container that catches the coins as they drop out of the machine. Some of the newer slot machines no longer use hoppers because they give players a ticket instead of coins when the player hits w inning combination. These ticket vouchers can be taken to the cashier’s window and redeemed for cash. |
