Multiplier SlotsSlot machines with symbols that multiply the amount of coins you win, if you happen to win coins on that spin. Return to the slot machine terms main page. If you make a combination on a regular slot machine, you might win 100 coins. If you make the same combination on a multiplier slots game, but you also hit on a 2x multiplier, you'll win 200 coins. The multiplier simply increases the coins or cash won by the amount of the multiplier symbol, in this case a factor of 2. Multipliers won't help if you don't win anything on a spin, though. So a player who gets 0 on the payout for a spin, but has a 2x multiplier appear for that spin, then the player receives no coins. If my third grade math is still correct, 2x0 is still zero. Certain machines allow for multipliers to stack. A player who receives a 2x multiplier and a 3x multiplier will receive 6x the coin amount. Players who receives two 3x multipliers will receive the exponential bonus of 9x the original coin amount. As you see, multiplier slots can quickly increase the win amount in case of a nice combination of multipliers. Sometimes, the multiplier symbol acts as a wildcard symbol, too. For instance, if a player on certain 3-Reel Classics receives two standard symbols and the third symbol is a 5x multiplier, then the player receives the coin amount as if filling out a standard winning combination, while also winning the 5x multiplier. |
